Managing Director, ANZ
Simon leads the team across Australia and New Zealand in Grocery, Liquor and Pharmacy channels. He has over 30 years’ experience in shopper and retailer.
Simon’s passion is understanding WHY shoppers behave as they do and improving business outcomes. Today, shoppers influence and drive decisions more than ever. What triggers behaviour? How do we move the conversation away from Price? How do we defend Brands? How do we add value back into the category?
Simon was head of Market Research for Tesco in the UK. He saw the opportunity for better retailer/ supplier conversations around an objective view of the shopper. Co-founding Shopper Intelligence in 2008, Simon loves helping suppliers talk the language of retail to maximise their brand success. And continually works with major retailers using Shopper Intelligence at the heart of their range review process and category planning.
Simon is a keen supporter of proper football (with the round ball) and can sometimes be spotted trying to actually play the game for his local club.
Chief Commercial Officer, ANZ
Over 20 years’ experience in FMCG and Pharma with Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo and Danone in commercial strategy roles and heading up Category and Shopper strategy. Expertise in bringing shopper insights to life and building shopper led retailer relationships to deliver category and brand growth.
She has an extensive background in building shopper led strategies utilising research and executing channel leading commercial plans.
When not working Nancy can often be found charging around the countryside on the back of her horse hoping to stay on top for as long as possible.
Client Service Director, Australia
With 20 years’ experience in grocery and liquor retail and insights across the UK and Australia, David heads up Shopper Intelligence’s Australian client service.
David’s passionate about engaging the retail industry to do better, by making the complex simple and driving shopper-centric strategies.
Country Manager, New Zealand
Andrew wears two hats, he leads the Shopper Intelligence New Zealand business and leads the Operations team across Australia and New Zealand. With 27 years (and counting) of FMCG experience and over 6 years with Shopper Intelligence, he is very well placed to guide clients on their shopper journey.
Andrew’s background is on the supplier side, but he did start out his career on the shop floor of his local supermarket. From there he spent 15 years working in a variety of key accounts, trade marketing and category roles with Gordon & Gotch, Energizer and Red Bull before landing at Shopper Intelligence. The passion has always been about telling stories with insights, now he gets to help others do that and address their business challenges.
Andrew loves both playing and watching sport, with cricket, league, golf and baseball top of the list. Cheering on his daughters in their netball exploits and spending quality time with the family are also particular favourites.
Dan has had substantial experience in sales and insights across various industries over the past 20 years, including a variety of roles with The Warehouse.
Most recently he spent 8 years with IRI NZ working with leading FMCG manufacturers and had a 5 year foray into the insurance industry in a business performance capacity.
A degree in Marine Biology completes an eclectic background which enables Dan to leverage a wide perspective to deliver unique insights.
Dan has a young family and enjoys spending his downtime with his children or day tripping around the countryside on his Triumph.
Senior Insights Manager, Australia
Ming joined us in 2020 with a passion for problem-solving & tackling challenges. She brings with her category and marketing experience across both grocery & liquor, having worked for Nestle & Diageo, as well as various wine roles in the Hunter Valley.
When she is not storytelling with data, Ming is out hiking with her four dogs, playing tennis, or experimenting with winemaking!
Shopper & Category Development Director
Mark Nguyen has over 20 years’ FMCG experience in a variety of categories, functions and companies from tiered 1 to developing businesses. He has had firsthand experience in utilising shopper insight data coupled with other data sources and working with internal teams to get a brand in its category re-ranged within the majors.
Mark has a passion to help suppliers unlock opportunities, create value add strategies that is aligned internally and externally. Converting “big data” into actionable outcome is critical in this day and age to remain competitive.
Client Service Executive
Kevin has over 8 years of FMCG experience working in Operations and Client-facing roles. Most recently he was with NielsenIQ Australia working in roles as a Output Manager for Scan/Panel data production and as a Client Liaison Manager.
When he isn’t helping clients understand our data and portal or troubleshoot any questions they may have, Kevin is at the gym or going on long walks with his daschund Reggie.
Operations Manager, ANZ
Alec Wang has over 9 years of industry experience in online survey programming and quantitative data management. He has a strong commitment to data quality and integrity, positive client relationship management, and is an enthusiastic problem solver.
Outside of work, Alec loves tinkering with his car and motorcycle and is a huge fan of snowboarding. You’ll find him chasing powder in Australia as well as in NZ and Japan.
Hannah has over 6 years’ FMCG experience, working for MDLZ and Kraft Heinz in insights and analytics roles before joining the Shopper Intelligence team. She delights in telling stories through insights and make complex data easy to understand. In her spare time Hannah enjoys baking and playing hockey
